Rob's PC Services

My interest in computing and the internet began when I bought my first Desktop PC in 1995. It was one of the first with Windows 95 installed and I was immediately hooked and eager to find out more about this new way of having fun and communicating with the outside world. Learning how to use, upgrade and repair computers has always just been a hobby, although I have to admit I find myself jealous of those who had the nerve to making a living from what they are passionate about. I did have the idea of turning my hobby into gaining employment in this field, and even spent 7 years studying for a degree in IT and Computing at the Open University. However, I realised that at my age it would have involved taking a major pay cut that I could not afford from my daytime job.

Fun is something many people do not associate with learning how to use a computer, which I have always thought is a shame. Many people are daunted by the idea of learning to use this amazing way of improving your life, and give up too easily. It has nothing to do with how intelligent you are, it just needs you to have some support to gain the confidence to use this technology.

You may have concerns about making a mistake and “breaking it” or worried about accidently deleting a file. I can assure you that it is difficult to delete a file accidently and even if you do, you can retrieve it and the only way of breaking a computer is to hit it with a hammer or throw it out of a window!

So, now that I am retired I have the time to help others and most of my advice is free. However, if you would like some extra help in using, upgrading or repairing your computer, for a reasonable fee I can do that as well. I can help you with this either online or in your own home, if you live within 10 miles of Ripley.

I look forward to hearing from you.
